Content Creator’s Guild: Where the Independent Vendors Are

May 25th, 2008 by chikako

There are a lot of content providers that service the 3D community, but many sell their products through brokerage sites such as Content Paradise, Cornucopia 3D, Renderosity, Daz3D, TurboSquid and more. Just like in the recording industry, many content designers are feeling the pinch of the distribution channels. The internet was supposed to change that, right? A large group of independent vendors - artists and designers - have joined together into an organization called Content Creator’s Guild.

If you like the idea of getting your content directly from the creators, then you should join CCG .

Content Creator’s Guild is both a community site and a news and information site. You don’t need to be a professional artist or graphics designer to join Content Creator’s Guild (aka CCG) - you just have to have an interest in cool content - especially 3D content - that you’d like to use in your own designs.

Many independent vendors promote their wares for 3D products like Poser, 3D Studio MAX, e-on software Vue and others.

The community site offers forums where designers post their new wares, special offers and tips and hints on how to use licensed content more effectively. There are dedicated group forums for several popular 3D programs. In addition, you can have your own MyPage where you can link up your artwork, music and video content.
